Al Jacobi
Al Jacobi is the broken mirror in which we see our true selves. With his electronic
singer/songwriter rap he gives a voice to the unspoken truths we all ignore.
Earlier in 2023, Al went on a European tour of 100 concerts in 100 days, and he’ll be
back on the road in 2024 for yet another European tour.
Al Jacobi is also the only rapper in the world performing with the MiMU Gloves – a
wireless, gestural MIDI controller used to control various parameters of the music
while performing. Al Jacobi uses these for musical control and voice manipulation as
well as audiovisual communication with dazzled audiences.

ɴoi bezeichnen ihren Stil als „fresh new retro pop“. Ziel dieses Konzepts ist es, unter
Einflüssen aus verschiedensten Kapiteln der Popmusik des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts einen
frischen, neuen Sound zu erzeugen.
Im Jahr 2023 fanden sich Dromo Iluvu (Lead-Gitarre und Bass), Richard Kaldenhoff
(Schlagzeug) und Jano Paetzold (Lead Vocals, Gitarre, Bass, Keyboard) in Bonn
zusammen, um ihre Ideen zu auftrittsreifen Songs weiterzuentwickeln. Seitdem fordern sie
sich gegenseitig heraus, ihre vielfältigen musikalischen Vorlieben, Einflüsse und Ideen so
ineinandergreifen zu lassen, dass ein stringenter Stil entsteht. Die Ergebnisse dieser
Arbeitsweise reichen von melancholischem Dreampop mit tanzbarer Disco-Untermalung
(„Polaroids“) über Akustikgitarren-Riffs im Contemporary-R&B-Groove mit Grunge-Finale
(„Nothing New“), 80er-Techno mit Funk-Bass („Pharaoh’s Dog“) bishin hin zur
Bluesrock-Jazz-Fusion mit proggigen Taktwechseln („Cat Song“).
Seit Sommer 2024 spielt die Band im Raum Bonn ihre ersten Konzerte. Ende des Jahres
soll ihre erste Single erscheinen.

ɴoi describe their style as ‘fresh new retro pop’. The aim of this concept is to create fresh,
new sound under the influence of various chapters of 20th and 21st century pop music.
In 2023, Dromo Iluvu (lead guitar and bass), Richard Kaldenhoff (drums) and Jano Paetzold
(lead vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard) came together in Bonn to develop their ideas into
performance-ready songs. Since then, they have challenged each other to intertwine their
diverse musical preferences, influences and ideas in such a way that a stringent style
emerges. The results of this approach range from melancholic dreampop with a danceable
disco backing (‘Polaroids’) to acoustic guitar riffs in a contemporary R&B groove with a
grunge finale (‘Nothing New’), 80s techno with funk bass (‘Pharaoh’s Dog’) and
blues-rock-jazz fusion with proggy time signature changes (‘Cat Song’).
The band has been playing their first concerts in Bonn since summer 2024. Their first single
is due to be released around the end of the year
