WolfWolf – Trash’n’Roll From The Woods
WolfWolf – Garage Punk Blues Trash Duo
„WolfWolf is more than just a band to us; it’s a universe of freaks and dark creatures that we have created over the years with our songs.“
Mr. Wolf & Mr. Wolf
For over a decade, the wild, unbridled energy of the duo WolfWolf has been raging through the underground music scene. With their unique sounds and abstract stories, WolfWolf have become a force to be reckoned with in the scene. It is the mix of garage punk and blues trash with which they have created their own musical identity. With their fourth album „Totentanz“ (Dance of Death), they continue on their path of merging different styles and experimentation.
About the album «Totentanz»
On the Swiss garage punk duo’s fourth album, many stories revolve around death. On this side of death, however, is life with all its stories, which also find a place. The protagonists on „Totentanz“ stand outside the limelight. They are stories about people who are less noticed, perhaps even overlooked in everyday life. They all find a place in the comic world of WolfWolf.
The music has remained unmistakably WolfWolf in style and mood and yet offers new elements. New Wave drum sounds from the early 80s, industrial sounds and the Mellotron have contributed to the complexity. The album was recorded by the duo’s long-standing producer Lukas Speissegger in Rorbas. Mixed by Harry Darling at Lux Noise Studios Basel. Mastered by Robin Schmidt, 24-96 Mastering, Karlsruhe.
As with the previous albums, WolfWolf place great emphasis on the visual presentation of the record. This time, the artist couple Barbara and Heini Gut were responsible for the cover. This is the first time the two have worked together on a project. Barbara Gut stages the Dance of Death with her unique sculptures and Heini Gut completes the appearance with the mysterious lettering. The photographic realization of the sculpture was carried out by Basel photographer Daniel Infanger.
